The buildings are composed from over 10 Centuries of Architecture, including Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, Classicism and Modernism, all specially listed as local and UNESCO monuments.

Facades are being carefully renovated and restored to their original condition and design, and interior details including a number of historic decorative wooden ceilings dating back over 600 years are being restored, preserved and integrated in to the new guest experience.

Design of the guest spaces provide a journey through time, infused with subtle contemporary furniture inspired by Prague’s rich art-deco past combined with noble contemporary detail. Our design reveals beautifully proportioned spaces, cosy rooms and vast courtyards, all integrated to respect the historic nature of the buildings. In careful consultation with the many historic preservation authorities, our design respects the building’s history, and adds a new layer of outstanding 21st Century design, continuing the location’s ‘story’.

Our restrained but frequently lush interventions allow more natural light to enter the historic spaces by restoring original openings. Fragments of the past have been uncovered and cleaned, including extensive baroque vaulted ceilings which have been hidden for over a century, forming the new arrival experience. Working with many local artists and craftspeople to create furniture and light sculptures, natural and organic materials are being combined throughout, building on a base palette of natural lime rendered walls, travertine stone and incredibly coloured marbles. Each space is uniquely curated to integrate contemporary Czech art, with 5 specially designed food and beverage experiences.

In the basement, original vaulted spaces have been excavated and restored, and over 3,000m2 of new space has been added to create Prague’s most extensive and luxury boutique spa and wellness experience.
