Each new home has been designed from the inside out, ensuring incredible views of Mikulov castle, the Svatý kopeček hill and it’s chapels, with every apartment benefiting from a south orientation providing filtered sunlight optimised to fulfil the passive house criteria.

In addition to the incredibly low energy achievements, the buildings are surrounded by lush new gardens planted with local species, and featuring natural rainwater ponds, outdoor ‘living rooms’, and community spaces for shared cooking and exercise.

The east, south and west facades are adorned with natural rainwater irrigated planters which provide further opportunity for bio-diversity, natural shading, and the incredible feelings and scent created by thousands of living herbs, grasses and flowers.

All car parking is located below grade providing a car free environment, and the core construction of the buildings is from FSC certified locally manufactured CLT panels, wood wool insulation, natural timber cladding and renders, and extensive green roofs surrounding an array of solar heating and Photo-Voltaic panels.

Heating and cooling is provided by ground source heat pumps, with highly efficient heat recovery systems powered by green solar electricity.

This will be the first large scale residential complex in the Czech Republic to be Certified by the Passive House Institute using Natura Architects’ own in-house Certified Passive House Designer expertise.
